On the border of Chania and the prefecture of Rethymno, about 40 kilometers east of the city of Chania you will find the coastal town Georgioupolis. It is one of the top tourist destinations for holidays in Crete. 4 km west of Georgioupolis is Kavros a long beach with crystal clear waters and golden sands.

A 5 minute walk from the square you will come across the bay of Georgioupolis which ends up at Almiros River. To the right and left of the harbour are the beaches and along the beaches are many restaurants and cafes where you can treat yourself to something or enjoy your coffee overlooking the magnificent beach.At the edge of the harbour we find the picturesque church of St. Nicholas, built on a pier that offers an ideal landscape suitable for photos.
